Head of Future Planning and Sustainable Development, Waitrose
Naomi currently works for the John Lewis Partnership, where she is part of the Waitrose property services leadership function responsible for developing and delivering long term economic cost model s for all store formats. Naomi joined JLP in January 2011, and has worked in the retail sector for over 20 years.
Naomi began her career at Marks and Spencer, where she worked in a number of store roles, before joining Head Office in 2000 within the Finance group. Following a move to the business change unit, Naomi led the Store of the Future programme, to deliver a retail environment for 2012, which is the environment that was rolled out in the £1billion refurbishment programme during 2004 to 2008.
Developing long term deliverable strategies, which are stretching, relevant and have scale resulted in Naomi leading from conception the development of Plan A within the construction division at M&S. Within the construction division, Naomi initiated the opening of the 3 Green trial stores, of which one achieved BREEAM excellent and won several external awards including Retail Interiors. Whilst working on Plan A Naomi worked with the team at BRE, and moved to BRE in 2008 to help lead the commercial division, developing sustainability plans for a wide range of organisation.
