Independent Advisor to Green Monday,
David Butter is a strategic management consultant, CPF facilitator and advisor to Green Monday. Through the medium of workshops, conferences and forums, he helps boards, leadership teams, stakeholders and customers to co-create sustainable business solutions – for example Unilever’s Sustainable Living Plan, Diageo’s Millennium water goals, and the evolving mission of The Met Office. He works with financial services, IT, airlines, marketing and media, and consumer goods, as well as government, industry associations and not-for-profits.
To deliver David draws on best-practice and proprietary frameworks, and visual, performance and jazz techniques in order to frame the right question, energise and engage the ecosystem of the organisation, and develop innovative yet practical solutions. He partners with global thought leaders and academics, and is a co-founder of Group Partners, a Strategic Visual Thinking consultancy, and the MAC Partnership (Managers, Academics, Consultants), a global consultant network.
David started out in marketing with Unilever and GlaxoSmithKline before joining Y&R, part of WPP, where he led global client teams, managed offices around the world and headed the global HQ in New York. He was also an early innovator in delivering CSR across the organisation.
His commitments to the ‘third sector’ include chairing a Kilfinan team of charity CEO mentors and a board committee of The Courtauld. He is also an advisor to Impetus venture philanthropy, an active RSA Fellow and a long-term TEDster.
David has worked as faculty for the HBR, the CIM, Capgemini University and E&Y Leadership Forum, and has an Honours Business Degree from City University. He is a Certified Professional Facilitator, delivering programs in English, French, German and Spanish.
